Re: VVVV & Resolume

Someone mentioned they figured out a way to do this:

http://vjforums.com/showthread.php?t=37940

apparently this screencapture software worked in resolume somehow, but it was a freeware prog that the devs got greedy with and decided to commericalize, there arent any copies of it left that i can find.

Re: CTRL+Z / CMD+Z

Bumping this from the dead. Why on earth is there no undo functionality in the advanced output options of Arena? I can't be the only one here who has accidentally scaled an input/output slice wrong only to have to curse and recheck my notes to see where it was previously. I understand why it does n...

Re: N00b

premiere wont recognize dvx codec until you install quicktime, and not the nice alternative version, the big apple bloatware version. also your gpu is too weak to run anything and you might be getting bottleneck on your drive since your running single drive

Re: DXV File Sizes & HDD Bottlenecking

bitrate is loosely defined as resolution x framerate, and most harddrives are 40-60MB/s when half full, so if you are reading files with bitrates that are close to this amount then you will get stuttering. DVX is a uncompressed codec so bitrates are large even for smaller video sizes. If you are usi...

Re: What sort of rig does it take to mix HD?

My raid is probably closer to 80MB/s read speed since its filling up, but the bitrate of uncompressed 720p is only 1/8th of that. I asked if using the dvx codec on a crappy gpu would actually be worse than not using it at all but got no response. Ive worked with enough software to know that its not ...

This is a documentary from the 70's describing in more detail how this works. Neat stuff.
