just tried this on win 7 64 bit - tried everything but cant reproduce it.

no drop in frame rate for me in relation to transport bars being open / closed / time line / bpm sync / transport controls visable

bpm counter going crazy!

in 4.0.1 on pc ( win 7 64 bit ) - sometimes when i turn avenue on, the little 4 part meter that shows which beat avenue is on ( to the right of tap / resync / pause ) goes MENTAL!!! currently the bpm reader says 120 bpm, but the indicator is moving MUCH fatser - maybe 4 times as fast ( its hard to t...

avenue reccomends dxv quicktime for optimum performance.

i use avenue on win 7 64 bit - it works fine.

what type of file are you trying to play?
have you installed quicktime?

if by useless you mean almost unlimited layers, faster effects, hardware acceleration, more clips in a deck and more flexibility - then yes, deffo useless.

the requirements for version 4 says:

"Mac OS X 10.5 or later"

looking at an archive of the page for version 3 it says:

"Mac OSX 10.4.11 or higher"

the versions before that were windows only.

you should go for version 4, it has some much superior features to version 3.

have you selcted the midi inputs in the preferences?
