Re: Resolume Avenue 3 released

Woo-hoo! Best news I've heard all year! (Well, second-best, after my having stumbled into a phat contract doing process automation for a well-heeled governmental contractor -- a gig that should allow me to continue to indulge my tastes in fast chips and loose women.) Looks like I know where *this* w...

Re: Resolume Avenue 3 is coming!

It just occurred to me that R3 might breathe new (or at least a little bit more) life into my old VJ machine, given that processing primarily occurs in the GPU. Assuming a satisfactorily powerful graphics adaptor and reasonably fast RAID0 video drive(s), am I likely to get decent throughout from an ...

Pretty freakin' amazing video enhancement technicques

Students at the University of Washington have come up with some brain-warping methods of using still photographs or modifications to a single video frame to work magic upon captured video. (As an example, by interpolating from an SLR photo, they are able to dramatically up-sample video shot of the s...

Re: Resolume Avenue 3 is coming!

I have mixed emotions -- well, pretty much about everything in life, but certainly about this first glance at R3. Of course, I'm also one of those with no interest in the audio features, so that eliminates a lot of the excitement potential. The core technology modifications all look great. Higher-re...

pfelberg - My guess is that any of these would work. Personally, I use the Voyetra/Turtle Beach interface with ReAct -- but just because that was what was in-stock and/or on-sale at the time. I think I went out planning to buy the M-Audio, but it was only in-stock with a bunch of bundled software I ...

According to this brief snippet in the New York Times -- http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/22/technology/22projector.html -- the next-generation product (WMS-200) from NewSoft will transmit video using WiFi (802.11a, b or g). The current version (WMS-100) apparently uses sends VGA screen shots (at 15 f...

Unless you have the 500Gb drive sitting around, why not go with two 250Gb SATAs in RAID0 config? That works well, even with 7200 rpm SATAs...
