The new macbooks have FW 800, and a 34mm slot for an eSATA card, both of which are superior to USB 2.0 for fast data transfer.

MP3 Support.

Apologies if this has already been addressed, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere. Does R3 really not support audio in mp3 format? I'm sure there's an underlying reason, but it seriously affects the software's usability, IMHO.

Get a scan converter--will convert VGA to composite or S video. I've been running Res 2.41 on a MBP and love it. The SC I have now cost about 50 USD, is USB powered, and does a good job, so far. It does not appear that there will be Bootcamp support for the DVI to S-video cable that Apple makes, alt...

If you have a mini DV cam, you can use the a/v input to record output from the audio and video mixer to miniDV tape....you may need some adapters eg 1/4" to RCA.....not the most eloquent solution, but a possibility.
