Its fascinating project. I was thinking about wireless controller a while ago. This seems to be a really good option.

The only thing we need now is eyemounted wireless micro monitor for a preview.

But are cyborgs cool enough to party?

But even with DVI-VGA-scanconverter-s-video chain everything works nice and smooth after initial testing. Can change resolut...

This may because of quite a serious power requirements by Photon. Specs say that if powered from AC needs 6V 1000mA - seems quite a lot.

I have also tested VGA connection - works fine on my LCD.

Your laptop may be simply overheating - after some time vent ducts get dirty and cooling is not that efficient anymore. You may try using an active cooling pad.

In terms of new machine - it depends what you want it for.
Dual core Intel seems a good choice - both in PC and MAC.

I wasn't testing it on a beamer yet - just on a monitor. I've ordered some simple sca converter, so as soon as it arrives (it may take a while) , I'll do some more testing. more update on resolume on mbp:
my cheap chinese USB TV capture cards works quite good (15-20fps) now even when used together with MIDI. the only problem is mbp has only 2 USB ports and if you don't want to use apple's one button touchpad, you have only 1 usb port left.

Quartz files are based on Mac OS system. They are also heavily relying on GPU. Which means they won't work under XP, not to mention Resolume.

confirming first tests on macbook pro runnning resolume under bootcamp.
DVI - out works ok, MIDI much more responsive than single core AMD, isight working well too. Can't say much of performance as was using external slow USB HDD, but 640x480 seems to be realistic now.

It's a funny bug.. On my laptop I have two XP installs: 'Full' - all drivers, editing software, resolume, morgan codec, quick time other vj soft etc. and 'Performance' - used to be just basic drivers, morgan codec, quick time alternative and resolume. However, It's not really a fresh install anymore...
