Re: Animated masks

I posted a method to achieve this effect using Layer Routers.

See viewtopic.php?f=12&t=11766

In the following comments I posted a detailed example.

Cheers,

Resizeable and/or collapsable layers

Screen space is always a problem for the clip layers. Sometimes a huge amount of space is wasted by a layer that doesn't change (eg a mask layer, colour filter or similar), changes infrequently, or changes in a way that you don't need to be able to see it. I use a bunch of layers for special effects...

Re: Select Transitions for Random

+1

Random across all (including ones you don't like) is close to pointless.

Re: Custom OSC input Values

We chose to go with normalized 0...1 values, so that there is some form of structure. Once certain values are 0...1, but others are -1...1, and others are -16384...16384, you lose the overview really quickly. It seems to me that values are likely stored as floats (not normalised), and the UI allows...

Re: Clip random duration

I'd like to set the number of times a clip loops before autopilot action. Some loops are very short (one bar, maybe even one beat) and it is silly to have to render out a longer clip made of copies. Another option I'd like to see is autopilot after a fixed duration (time or bars), eg every 30 second...

Re: More than one mask

I use the layer router frequently to manage video content in real time so switching between multiple masks on a particular video would be a great application. This is a terrible application! Just put the masks in another layer as regular clips and use the appropriate blend mode as suggested by Sadl...

Re: Track mattes in Resolume (SOLUTION)

There was some uncertainty as to how to make this work in a discussion regarding this method on the VJ Union Global group on Facebook, so I set about making a more detailed example. Explicit example Note: layer 1 is at the bottom of the composition, layer 5 at the top. Start at the bottom and build ...

Re: Track mattes in Resolume (SOLUTION)

You can switch the order of (1) and (2) if you like. In fact this may be preferable, supposing you may want to use multiple layers to build up the "content" for the overlay, and just one layer to define the shape.

Track mattes in Resolume (SOLUTION)

Hi all, it seems that even the Resolume staff don't know that tracks mattes (video as a mask for video, which can be overlaid on other content) ARE possible within Resolume itself without any extra plugins. You need at least 5 layers to do it (including one "background" content layer). Her...

Re: video as mask

It *IS* possible to do this in Resolume. You need at least 5 layers to do it (including one "background" content layer). 1. Matte shape layer(s). Start with ARGB content, or use an effect such as Auto Mask (which maps luma to the alpha channel) or the Luma as Alpha blend mode (requires mor...
