Re: Ableton and Resolume

On reading more carefully, it sounds like you have the network MIDI part covered, and that you need more help with the exact routing. It seems like an effective way to do this might be to configure the External Instrument plugin in Ableton. This is designed to send MIDI to external hardware. So set ...

Problems with Jabra Panacast on MacOS

I recently picked up a Jabra Panacast camera (https://www.jabra.com/business/video-conferencing/jabra-panacast). It's a pretty clever device, it has three high resolution cameras that it stitches together in hardware to generate a seamless 180º panorama. It also has a smart zoom feature that will cr...

Re: Ableton and Resolume

Should be easy. I have instructions below on doing it with MIDI. You could also get the Ableton patches for Resolume that are somewhere on this forum, and use them to control Resolume via OSC. That has its own instructions. For MIDI however... 1. follow these directions on each Mac: https://support....

Re: NDI output not working with Arena 7.3.2

Interesting, I've had issues RECEIVING NDI feeds on a PC, in any software, including Resolume.

When I upgraded the NDI tools to NDI 5, everything worked better, except Resolume, which is still on NDI 4.

Updating Resolume to use NDI 5 seems like it would be a good thing to do.

What's a good simple way to cut an MP4 into a bunch of clips?

Hi there, not strictly a Resolume question, but one that I'm sure many people here have addressed. I'm looking for a way to take an MP4, slice it into clips, and then export each clip as a separate file. Ideally as a batch process. What has worked so far (manually) is to load the MP4 into Final Cut ...

Re: Projection on 4 walls from 7 devices

I found the Matrox QuadHead2Go pretty easy and bulletproof. Slightly more affordable than the Datapath.

In fact, you could possibly use 1 QuadHead2Go and 1 TripleHead2Go. If you go that route, the DisplayPort version of the TH2Go is far more reliable than any of the other versions.

Re: Resolume + lighting + proximity sensor = AV Love

I would suggest using something like Chataigne to manage the interactions: https://benjamin.kuperberg.fr/chataigne/en Attach your proximity sensor to an Arduino or similar, use the serial interface in Chataigne to receive a message whenever it senses something. Chataigne has excellent integration wi...

Can't see NDI sources on PC (Mac is OK) SOLVED

SOLVED: Removed the "Killer" network drivers and reverted to the generic Microsoft drivers. Now it works. I was testing out some stuff, with Arena 7 running on a Mac and on a PC. However, I have a problem: Apps on the Windows PC can't see NDI sources from any other source, including Arena ...

Using 3rd party FFGL plugins on Mac OS Big Sur

I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to Mac OS Big Sur. When I started Resolume Arena 7, I got a warning about software from an unknown developer, namely the 360 VJ plugins. No matter what I did, Resolume would then fail to open. I eventually moved the plugins to a different folder, after which Resolu...
