effect combination preset

Post by oheegs »

Is it possible to save/ load an effect combination preset instead of saving individual effect presets and trying to remember the combination?

this can not be done directly in resolume.

I have a workaround for you,
copy the clip with effects to clipboard,
paste the clipboard into a txt file,
when you want to use the effects, copy text from the txt file,
paste in resolume,
then replace the video/audio content in the clip ( by dragging th new source to clip tab->video(audio) )

Actually, it can be done in Resolume.

1) In your current comp, let's call it "Old Comp" for the sake of this quick tutorial, create a new deck and label it "Presets"
2) in the new "Presets" deck, create or paste & copy all the clips with the effects you want to use as presets.
3) save your composition
4) open a new composition which we'll name 'New Comp"
5) in the bottom right corner, under [Compositions], find your "Old Comp" and double click on the "Presets" deck. That'll load the "Presets" deck into your "New Comp" with all the effect combinations you saved in the "Presets" deck of your "Old Comp".
6) Now you can copy & paste clips to other decks in your "New Comp" and all you have to do is change the media.
7) Make sure to save your "New Comp"

The only catch is if you keep on adding new presets to the "Presets" deck, it won't update the deck in the "Old Comp" so if you want to keep using the same deck, all you have to do is open your "Old Comp" delete the "Presets" deck and import the updated "Presets" deck from the "New Comp".

Voila!
