Stretch Fabric Color

Post by jaydeeshow »

Hi Guys,

I need to choose the colour of the stretch fabric adapt to my scenario.

I will use a DLP Panasonic PT-DZ570U with 4K on shapes with a stretchy fabric. I'm debated between the white and the grey which I'm considering because I've been told that can be better for contrast.

Instead I'm thinking having not a super bright projector ( in case I will have a brighter venue I will need to rent 8, or 14 K or 3 x 5K using a Matrox triple head to go.

Any advice for the colour of the fabric?

Who cares about contrast when you can't see the image so white especially since you don't have tons of brightness.

will there be other lighting?
if so, the reflections of the lights from the floor or other objects can light up the white fabric.
black floor and people(!) can reflect more light than you would think.
not necessarily a bad thing, but conception wise, it could matter.

so in case other lights will be used, I personally would consider a lightgrey material, which can help reduce the effect of reflected light, and can help separate the stage depth.
