SMTP inpout on Retina Macbook pro: NO audio in?

Hi all,
just a quick question.
Retina macbook pro's don't have a separate audio in port anymore.
Do any of you experience issues with this when trying to get your audio input to trigger smtp?
I couldn't get any input during on off my shows (but might have been an issue with timecode itself).
