In Arena 5, clip preview is maintained when clips are connected from outside of user UI interaction, for example by Auto Pilot or an external controller. The only time clip preview is canceled in Arena 5, is when the currently previewed clip is on the currently selected layer and this specific clip is connected and being previewed at the same time.
The attached video "Arena 5 Preview behaviour.gif" (animated GIF) shows this behaviour using Auto Pilot and some 'Solid Color' Generators on the same layer and one 'Solid Color' Generator on another layer.
The preview behaviour in Arena 5 works well when you're editing clip settings while clips are changing. No problems here.
However, in Arena 6, the preview behaviour appears to be broken (I can't imagine this is intentional), requiring one to constantly re-select a clip for preview to see the effects of changes to the clip's settings whenever any clip is connected on any layer. Contrary to Arena 5 behaviour the preview is then again unexpectedly maintained when the previewed clip is on the current layer and this specific clip is connected.
The attached video "Arena 6 Preview behaviour." (animated GIF) shows this behaviour with a similar Deck, again using Auto Pilot and 'Solid Color' Generators.
To confirm: This unexpected behaviour appears for any kind of clip (I just use Generators to showcase behaviour because they are built-in).
