Alley converted video playback issue

Post by bizzar0helldemon »

Hello everyone,

I have searched the forums and have not found a post with the same issue, sorry if it has been covered and i missed the thread. The issue I am encountering is converting video files with Alley. I throw a file in, convert it to the default (DXV 3 Normal Quailty No Alpha), the resulting DXV file plays at 1/2 speed. Has anyone else run into this issue? Is it some setting I am over looking? Any help would be appreciated, thank you. For example, I wanted to play around with some clips form a movie, the movie is roughly 1 gig in size and 1 hour 23 mins long. After converting to DXV 3 the file size is 8.59 gigs and the run time is 3 hours 8 mins long (when opened in either VLC or Resolume Arena).

FCPX Alley dropping frames

Post by hubissimo »

hello. this is crazy.... I export from final cut at 30 fps and drop in Resolume Alley and export expecting 30 fps and same file time length.... what I am getting is 15 fps and DOUBLE time length. example: 30 FPS 1 minute length what I get is 15 FPS and 2 minute file length. I have tried everything, updates, reinstalls, safe modes, had the same issue on another mac. I believe this may be a final cut issue but I have to start somewhere. thanks to everyone!!

We're working on an issue that sounds like what you describe.

Try Setting the Video Duration to the desired length in Resolume in the clip panel.
Or get an older Alley Version, and try converting with that.
Software developer, Sound Engineer,
Control Your show with ”Enter” - multiple Resolume servers at once - SMPTE/MTC column launch

Can you please upload a link to a working Alley?

Is does all files to 14.98 fps.... I tried 2.1.5 as well, same result....

EDIT:

I found the DL backlog on site. Alley 2.0.2 works as it should :-)
