hi,
this is the mask

http://picasaweb.google.it/lh/photo/oNM ... directlink

and the effects that have problems are:
mirror-black hole
shift glitch - orizzontal
static subtle

and others like blendoscope or circle...

the effect appears wrong in the red areas of mask

thank you!

Hey sineglutine

As far as I can tell, your image is red and white. A mask should be grayscale, where black will mask out the video and white will leave the video visible. Gray will make the video slightly see through.

When changing the red to black, the mask works as expected, with all the effects you mention applied.

Hope that helps

Joris.

Hmmm

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what your problem is. Could you outline the steps you're taking, what you're thinking should happen, and what is actually happening?

hi!

Sending a test made by applying a mask to the composition

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mO-kPx-UeRc

I applied the effects in this order:
- static subtle
- mirror black hole

The third effect still works: stripper

thanks!

Thanks very much for the video. It shows very clearly what the results are.

Still, to fully understand the problem, the steps you take to get this result are equally important. From what I gather from your posts, you do the following:
- 1 layer playing a fullscreen clip
- apply vertical striped mask (.jpg file) on the composition properties mask
- apply effects at the composition level, all at 50% opacity set to add blending mode.

Then you are expecting that the effects are only applied to the areas which are NOT masked out, but what is actually happening is that they are applied everywhere.

Is this correct? If not, maybe a screen recording of your Resolume interface showing what you're doing is an option for you?

The reason we need this info, is to be able to fully recreate the problem on our end. The only way we can recreate it at the moment, is by applying the mask at the layer or clip level, in which case this is expected behaviour.

I had not correctly applied the mask to the composition! now it works very well!

Thank you for your patience!
