Autoplay SMPTE

Post by dems92i »

Hello,

I have a show with SMPTE Timecode, and I want play clip without selected it. For exemple I have 4 clips, it started at 01:00:00:00, 02:00:00:00, 03:00:00:00 and 04:00:00:00. It's possible to autoplayed clip, without selected each clips ?

Thanks :)

Hello,
try this http://palffyzoltan.hu/?url=controller

It works with smpte and connects to Arena via OSC
It's quiet useful for a lot of things.

Anyway I think it's time to have a clip checkbox inside Arena to cue the clip as soon the offset SMPTE is received…

I read the manuall so that it is possible with the "offset".

Setting the offset won't launch the clips.
It allows you to have a launched clip playing at a different TC position than the incoming TC.

One thing you could do is:
  • have your 4 clips in separate layer in the order you want them to play
  • set the 4 layers to 100% opacity
  • set the SMPTE time for each clip
  • trigger the 4 clips
  • Start your time line
As a note, if you want to first clip to start at 00:00:00.00, you might want to have 1 second of preroll in your timecode

...or you could simplify the process and use Zoltan's OSC controller and set the time code for each cue.

A timecode cant start a clip by its own... thats different to what i did with timecode on other media servers..

But the Output will be black till the clip starts?

Transparent actually, until the incoming TC is not in the range of the clip's position+offset.
But the clip needs to be launched first.

Having a pre-roll is a good idea in either case.
