Be careful upgrading to Mac OS 10.15 Catalina

Post by Timeop »

I just upgraded to the new OS 10.15 and it relocated almost all of my files to a new location Users/Shared/Relocated items/Security

It seems that I have to manually “relocate” all of my previous files because even though they are in the same place as they were before the Avenue browser only sees the relocate location and requires me to move or relocate files one by one…

Maybe I’m wrong but until you look at it, I’d be careful.

This article should explain why this happens: https://www.macrumors.com/guide/relocated-items/

Even worst in the new version, Relocating is a nightmare. it takes only that particular file and ask us to select all with the same file in different deck but never collect the other files in the same directory. File in the same directory need to relocate separately.

Is this particular to Catalina, or Resolume 7?

Did you store your footage in the OS root / ?
Then I guess the upgrade moved your footage folder.
Turns out Resolume has issues with reconnecting folder structures/files moved from the os root.

We're working on this, meanwhile what you can try would be renaming the original top level folder in your structure, then re-connecting the files again.
