Showcase: Online Buzzer

Post by cosmowe »

Hey Guys,
I guess like anyone else... I don't know what to do with my unwanted spare-time :) ....
So I decided to skill my self a bit more in programming. So I needed a project....

We were not able to see each other in real-live because of corona regulations so we started to meet in groups via webcam. We started playing quiz-shows.....every night. So... I decided to code a "Multiplayer Online Buzzer". Its free to use.... and if you like... just use it... to play Buzzer games...with your friends. One person has to be the game host with the masterplan and a prepared Quiz ....the players just join him. Enjoy

You can test the functionality by playing as host in one browser-tab...and as player in another browser tab... or with your smartphone. As you wish.

When i found this site by accident a month ago, I thought it was awesome as it was the answer to an activity I could do with my classes in our current eLearning / Zoom world. In fact, I was planning to use in my classroom tomorrow, but I noticed it doesn't seem to be working right now. Any chance it might be back up?

Not sure if you can handle the volume, but I was thinking of sharing this forward with the educational community.

Hey jwagoner22,
We made a server change because of the growing traffic. It's back on right now. Cosmobuzz was intended to support Trivia-Games..... But the reality is..... I get mails from teachers all around the globe who would like to use it in their classes.....

I've seen single Buzzer-Rooms with almost 300 simultaneous users.....and right now are round a bound 4000 users online. So yes.... :-) It can handle a lot of users. Feel free to share it.

Right now I am working on a project especially for educational purposes....hopefully near the end of the year it's ready for release.... we will see.

Thanks for your interest.

Yo man!

Is there anyway I can get you to build me a custom version of this here awesome app you made? I've been using it with friend and want to use it in a Facebook page I've been wanting to start.

Hope to hear from you soon. :)

Or if you can point me towards how you made one at least?

Thanks.

Hi badjoga,
what kind of customization do you want?

We already made an advanced version of it with more features.

- Custom colors
- Custom buzzers
- Custom Logos
- High-score System
- Persistent Rooms. (No longer need to share new codes every day to the players)

...and much more. I can give you 24h free access to check out the new features.
After that I would kindly ask you to donate a couple of euros for a 1 month usage login. ;)

What do you say?

Best wishes
