I've been on the lookout for a good Codec/compression to render Quicktime clips with alpha channels in AXF for use in Resolume. I tried most of them, almost all of the resulting renders failed to play in Resolume, infact most of them wouldn't play in anything at all, the problem seems to be that most Codecs, like Animation codec or Huffy - Sheer etc can't get file sizes down low enough for players to handle and if they do the loss of picture quality is usually enormous, then I found this.

Avid Meridien Compressed.
Quicktime movie compression, Supports Alpha, is recognised by AFX, is easy to install and use and it will drop your file sizes down to virtually nothing Without any loss of picture quality.
A 200 MB File (with alpha) dropped to just 25 MB with no visable loss to the image quality, the only time I found any obvious loss was after clip resizing, this happens even to uncompressed movie files though, but I thought I'd point it out.
Hope someone find's this of use.

Found an excellent Codec
Re: Found an excellent Codec
Thanx for the link.
It's about time that some decent codecs are developed with proper alpha channel support.
