Sync two resolumes

Post by oau »

Hi,

I'm searching who we can do it, but we don't find any information about it, and the question is:

Is it possible to sync two resolumes by midi clock on different laptops?

I saw that avenue don't have clock Out, but is there any other way to do that?
Basically we need to put on the same tempo, two or more clips (Audio/Video) at the same time. Something like a dvj mixer soft. but on resolume. Any ideas?

Thanks on advance,

sure thing via MAX/MSP. Does either one of the users decide the bpm or is it going to go back and forth between the two? does the bpm come from tapping? Is tapping done via keyboard or MIDI? …what is your setup ;)

First all, thanks for your quick answer and sorry about my english...

Bpm isn't from tapping. We start at fixed bpm, and we go changing it during the show

Well, At the end, we solved this duplicating Midi signal. The same controller on a Midi-controller assigned to resync button on both resolumes, and the again with tempo (bpm).

For instance, it works fine, we play the same beat on two laptops and is on time, and move bpms by the controller and it works too. So,I'm afraid with a full project, with effetcs, layers a so, with latency. :?

I will explain it next week.....when we finish.

How do you do that with Max?

Never mind the MAX/MSP idea. I thought of some other setup.
If I get you right you are saying that one MIDI–controller is connected to two machines running Resolume and dictating the bpm. So I don't think there should be any latency issues as long you don't have one MIDI–cable @ 10 feet and the other one @ 1000.
