Hey there,
heres a new list of some Ideas i had while doing all the hard work with resolume. Some are old from an previous post...some are brand new. Feel free to discuss...

Bugs:
-Opacity doesn’t show right when using an envelope
-When clip is persistent "Show in Explorer", "Show in Files" etc is greyed out

Advanced Output:
-more polygon points for slices
-more possible Warping points / free definable points
-change masks to slices and vice versa
-feather masks for soft edges
-input/ slice mask
-Export masks to svg
-slice groups
-all shapes as slice like for masks
-change the directory of saved prefs(like screensetup, compositions etc) for easier backup (Dropbox) like chaser does
-Next and Highlite keyboard shortcut for slices
-Edge blending on rotated slices
-Import svg as slices or masks
-Bypass Slices via OSC / Midi / DMX
-lock slice in advanced output

DMX/Artnet:
- re integrate USB DMX Interfaces as in/out
-option to integrate fixtures in screensetup file
-Spanning of fixtures over more than one Universe
-Select more than one Lumiverse to Set Framerate, Brightness, Output etc
-Switch Lumiverses from xx:Subnet xx:Universe to xxx:Universe (Some Controllers display only the decoded number of the Universe and not subnet /universe. Less Calculator use..

Effects:
-particle effect: move emitter out of composition size
-save effect chains as presets
-online effect preset library( also for effect chains)
-set an anchor point in clip for transformation and general anchor in composition for effects
-soft border source / effect with adjustable curve or integrated in shaper


Clips:
-trigger cue points via bpm
-Stack Pictures or Videos in one Clip with Transition and Duration / Loop Repeats - Much easier like Autopilot
-Transport position via sound, envelope
-transition in/out time for individual clip
-transport envelope
-Define a loop repeat number or time for Autopilot

Decks:
-Safe edited deck in original composition it was loaded from
-Tags for decks, clips ( perhaps implement it in alley conversion directly?)
-select decks in composition browser,move,copy, delete and jump to
-select more than one Deck for deleting (perhaps in the composition browser?)

Layers and Composition:
-column autopilot
-Collapse Layer groups
-start recording at next clip trigger and define recording length ( for resampling loops)
-Show midi shortcut in list when pressed and mouse over list
-Set a midi velocity mapping standard (for active colour feedback)


Alley:
-“use in arena” button and place in deck,like a recorded clip
-sort by codec, resolution, size etc
-define in and out points for conversion

Indeed, it could be too much to process at once

Going through the list I see a few, for which we already have tickets, others we're working on.

There are some which are already possible:
-input/ slice mask - In the Presets menu : Export to SVG
-Export masks to svg - In the Presets menu : Export to SVG
-Next and Highlite keyboard shortcut for slices - Tab , and Shift Tab will switch to the next slice
-lock slice in advanced output - If you fold the Screen up the Slices can't be edited, and will be hidden from the workspace.
-change the directory of saved prefs(like screensetup, compositions etc) for easier backup (Dropbox) like chaser does - You could try to achieve this with symlinks from the Dropbox folder to the Resolume docs folder.
-Set a midi velocity mapping standard (for active colour feedback) - The next shortcut should remember the settings of the previous one including the velocity settings. Doesn't it do that for you?

To some, we'd need some additional info on your workflow to better understand how you'd like them to work, like
-trigger cue points via bpm - do you mean beat snapping for the cue point triggers?
-all shapes as slice like for masks - please elaborate
-feather masks for soft edges - Soft edges are already feather masks, how would you use this exactly?
-set an anchor point in clip for transformation and general anchor in composition for effects - how would you use this?

Generally, we'd like also input from other users to these suggestions.

I'm just very happy that your list of bugs is WAAAAY shorter than your requests Certainly good suggestions, some are already in the works...

Yes indeed we can improve this by showing the same thin line that represents the actual value as we do on the fader (or timeline) just above the envelope. Would that be a good solution for you? Or would you rather have the fader on the layer represent the value after the envelope is applied?

I also want to say s.th. :
It can lead to cunfusion and chaos if the fader will represent the final value. It also means moving the fader would move to the certain value inside the "timeline".. but....
What is when the Envelope have multiple keyframes and all values are represented more them one time?

I think its good when we have a visuall indicator that show something is not default...

Display the grey line would be a solution...
or
Maybe its also possible to color the fader with a none linear behaviour in another color?
or.

Use the horizontal slider as a vertical slider as well ( just visual ) and color it as high als the final value is... (do you understand this?)

For me I am in love with most suggestions, most important for me are:

Effects:
+effect chains presets

+ add midi/osc/DMX Remote for choose presets.

And please add renaming option for placed effects in a clip/layer/group/comp or at least let us add a viewable notes for that.

Clip:
-Right click > convert and replace with alley option
-Stack Pictures or Videos in one Clip with Transition and Duration / Loop Repeats - Much easier like Autopilot
-transition in/out time for individual clip

Nice set of suggestions! For me, this one is the most important :

+ transition in/out time for individual clip

I'm using Resolume more and more for theater and danse shows and it is the only thing missing for composing timelines in Resolume. Right now the transition is made at the stop of the clip or at the beginning of the loop which is not really usable in my case.

Others important in this list for how I use Resolume :

+ Column autopilot
Again for theater, this is one of the only thing that is missing for programming and controlling cue shows.

+ feather masks (and slice) for soft edges
To make fast soft edge mask and slice in the output window to hide sharp projection edge. Making feathered mask in Photoshop and using them in the composition is time consuming and note versatile. When we are in workshop with the director or the choreographer, we have to work clean and fast and it happens often that they want me to soft the edge of a slice.
@Zoltan What do you mean by "Soft edges are already feather masks" ?

+ slice groups
When we have a lot of slice it would be clean to be able to sort them in groups

Now that we are at it, here are some of my suggestions :

- Column name translate in OSC address
When working in theater and controlling the show with, for exemple, Cue lab : if I have a show with 90 column / cues and want to add a cue between 21 and 22 (cue 21.1), all column number after will go one number up so I have to change all the OSC message after the cue 21 in Cue lab. If the Column name would translate in the OSC address, that problem wouldn't be a problem anymore!

- Set in/out for cue point
so we can make different loops in one clip

- Blend mode for slice
I often use multiple different input slice on the same output surface, it would be nice to be able to set the blend mode.

Ok yes, but you need to add 4 slices for each (square) slice you want to soft edge if I understand what you mean?
Works well indeed, but can add a lots of slice if I want to soft edge, for example, an installation with 75 slices .

Hence the word "abuse"

The Vignette effect and pre-made feathered black and white pngs in combination with the Mask effect have served me quite good for this. But I agree, it would be great to have a tool built in to do this on the fly.
