using USB keys to store vids is NOT GOOD

Post by Rincevent »

Someone in the forums proposed to use USB keys to store your clips.

At first I thought it was a great idea to boost perfs but after a little research it seems it is not a good idea at all because the ig majority of USB keys have a maximum transfert rate of 10Mo/s (an HDD can go up to 100Mo/s)

Anyone has an experience with USB keys to confirm that ?

yes i do not know who suggested this but it does not make sense to use a (usually slow) USB drive for triggering clips from.
