`Good midi-controller? -> Evolution X-session

Post by ChrisisForce »

I was planning to buy this for music on my pc, but I was asking myself: 'Why not buy a controller that's also suitable for vj'ing?'

Now, my question to 'the experts' is, is this also suitable for 'fine-tuning' in resolume?

Here's a link btw:

Thanx, I'm getting it thursday (three days from now.....can't wait :D )
Just one more question, those buttons on the right ( 1 to 9, sort of numpad) Can you program those to do whatever you want or are they already for som function?

They are assignable

Post by Tom »

I have had mine for 4 days now, its great. I did a show with it on Saturday night and it was excellent. the buttons are assignable but they output a value of 100 an the first press and 0 and the second press, so I have to double click to trigger things with them in resolume, I'm sure this can be changed but I haven't looked into it yet. The X fader is excellent for scratching the play head and the dials are perfect for speed, opacity and effect controls.

Yeah, I bought it and it's great!
Of course there are some minor drawbacks, for example the dials are really small, and the space between the dials is minimal. Somebody put new 'keys' (the plastic part of the dial) but than there's no space left, so just have to live with it :( But it's still a great controller!!!:D
