Best, brightest, smallest, cheapest short throw projector?

Post by roryclewlow »

I'm looking for something that I can just rock up to a DJ set with an project on to the wall or ceiling or whatever.

Anyone got any suggestions of what I can look in to?

Thanks

I've been using an Optoma w316st, 3600 lumen, wxga 1280x800.
20,000:1 contrast. From the research I did on projector central and so forth was the brightest in short throw area before you break through to more pro projectors with separate lenses and much higher costs.
£500/600

Had it around three metres from wall.

I use an NEC NP-M352WS. I think its discontinued. 3500 lumen, 1200x800 SXGA. I figure the best you will get in the short throw field is around 3000-3500 lumens, 1280x800, before you go over $1k.

I have a good amount of experience with the Optoma short throw models too and put simply, they deliver. Should be fine for what you need and then some!
