128MB ATI Radeon 9600

Post by planar »

Is a 128MB ATI Radeon 9600 Graphics card up to the Job for Vjing with Resolume - I hit up the ATI site and it seems to have TV/S-IDEO/DV1 OUTS - I assume is what I would need? I'm bit of a Noob and looking into purchasing a laptop - the one I have been looking at comes with this card as standard - would it need upgrading ? Thanks in advance!:)

Absolutely fine as far as your card goes.

Resolume is designed to work best with Ati or Matrox cards. Almost any one will do, I still use a 9200 I got super cheap. Resolume doesn't use the hardware for mixing (It's all software), only for the dual display so don't worry about the latest direct x features or amount of ram since these would only be used for gaming really.

That said prob best to avoid integrated graphics versions as it'll use up some of your system RAM.
