if you used the midibox project at http://www.ucapps.de/midibox64.html

your image would only just not work, though if you got rid of a few buttons it would, plus you could have a few faders and etc, to control effects and speed and that. which is one plus it has over the one at http://www.piengineering.com/custom/xkmatrix.php

in these upcoming holidays (late nov) im gonna have a go at building some midi stuff. i realy like your design, i think mine will be similar to yours.

you don't need to buy X-keys® Matrix Boards with an onld keyboard controller you do the same and you even have more keys :)

if i use the Midibox 64 i can always use the keyboard controller to have more buttons
the problem is that here in portugal is very expensive to buy electronic components so if i try to build a midi based keyboard it will get more expensive than buy one :(

oh yeah thats a bit of a problem.

i dont have a problem with the keyboard, as i use a mouse and a tablet to control resolume most the time. the only thing extra i would want would be some sliders and that.

Good point Danger... That is just a crap-load of soldering to do. : ) I liked your concept drawings... and the idea of making a resolume friendly keyboard interface is drool-worthy for sure. : )
