Any way to NOT have video clips stretch to audio?

I notice that when adding a separate audio file to a video clip, the video is stretched/shrunk to match the length of the audio. Is there any way to bypass this?

Basically I have some longish-clips, about 5-10 secs, and I want a short sound (1-2 sec) to play when they are triggered. I am OK for the rest of the clip to play in silence, but at its normal tempo.

Yes I would second this request as a feature - maybe again a config setting to allow this fetaure to be switched off / on . Tx.

This is indeed not possible at the moment, you can however put the two clips in one column and trigger them with the column, this way they start at the same time but play independent of each other.
