Have you monitored the MIDI signal on both systems? on OS X i recommend MIDI-Monitorhttp://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ on Windows MIDI-OX http://www.midiox.com/app.htm

You could do this via OSC without the need for special hardware. A simple (W)LAN connection will do. Read this article for more info: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2010/03/h ... e-control/. I haven't tried LiveOSC myself but it reads promising.
Just found this as well: http://www.future-instruments.net/surfa ... Connection
Especially "How to use Ableton Live on another computer". You have to think of "this Live" as Resolume on another computer.

btw: I hate M-Audio

thanks a lot, I knew part of the OSC system

I tried the Ta Horng MIDI interface (unknown for me )..... and this works!
but Ta horng is a friend of mine... and I can not use it ....

you know some other MIDI interface that works without going through OSC?

I believe that M-Audio has serious problems!

thanks!

I have a Focusrite Saffire sound card in charge which has MIDI I/O and my MIDI-controller's got I/Os, too.

That said, I can't give you an advise for a MIDI-only controller.
