How about a built in Wianmp AVS player so you can generate visualisations off the FFT in resolume without the need of a second pc.

could that be done as a freeframe plugin? cause then alot of apps could use it

the audio fft values are send to any flash file you play in resolume. you could make some fancy flash animations with this.
script flash files to use the audio values.
You could make freeframe plugins that respond to the audio. but there is no way yet to send audio data to the plugin (except for the parameters, but they are limited of course).
You could build in audio analysis into your freeframe plugin, the problem is that every plugin would have it's own audio analysis and that doesn't help performance.

so cook up some flash file and see what you can do.

if you can find some delphi or c++ code for a open source vectrex emulation it won't be that hard to make a freeframe plugin of it. that's what i did with the zxspectrum emulation.
