Is it possible to (midi) trigger clip that is on another deck?

Try using Groups.
The Layer Target of a Clip works relative the Group it's in.
I would suggest making two Groups, one for the SMPTE controlled video clips and another for the overlay clips.

One deck has videoclips of songs that I'm playing (I'm a DJ), and that are being synced via SMTPE.
I want to target those clips to the layer that I use for the videoclips.

I have another deck which has only overlays and such. I want those to be always targeted to the layer ...

I have 3 pages of clips, 5 layers per page (5x8 = 40 clips per page)

I'd like to target the clips on page 1 to "Layer One", clips on page 2 to "Layer Two" and so on...

Is it possible to target clips to a specific layer (not necessarily the active layer) ? If so, how?

How do you organize your clips of a layer on the 5x8 ? Horizontal or vertical ?
I've got my layer's video slider mapped to the APC faders, which are horizontal, but I wonder how people organize their clips on those layers.

Here's my scenario:
I am a DJ and have my CDJ's (via software) generate 2 streams of SMPTE timecode, 1 for each deck.

Ideally I want Resolume to have 1 layer ("Layer 3") with ALL my videoclips (of the songs that I play), and have 2 empty layers ("Layer 1" & "Layer 2"), 1 for each CD deck ...

I currently have Midi IN and OUT checked on the IAC Bus 1 in my midi preferences. Are you saying the OUT needs to be unchecked?

I'm running into a very frustrating problem where my Resolume is freezing up consistently after midi mapping. Both in composition and application midi maps this occurs.
