I haven't heard back on this but I'd like to expand...
Lets say I create/purchase a bunch of mp4 type files where there is a black background or green screen or whatever as a mask. In Resolume, I basically have to render each one individually and chroma out the background to alpha live for each ...

Re: Beat-synchronized effects Stop Motion and Strobe
There is a way to do this with envelopes by doing a "solid color" or "stop motion" effect using a square wave modulated at the time run, but I agree, this should be integrated to software.

Re: Visual Programming of Laser Fixtures (new product!)
I also realized I didn't answer your question. The current market is small to medium venues with financial limitations in either fixture budget for lighting or additional staffing required to program and run the light shows.
If you consider clubs or bars investing in lighting setups you have two ...

Re: Visual Programming of Laser Fixtures (new product!)
No, the issues with current systems are that they are limited to the hardware filters/beamsplitters that are factory installed in the moving heads, as well as the limitations of the DMX system itself. My system uses a special "digital gobo" chip which allows for virtually any beam/shape to be ...

Re: Visual Programming of Laser Fixtures (new product!)
The wall idea is awesome but no, I use a lens to focus the light beams.
The goal is not to get direct laser effects (i.e. point laser lines rather than beams).
I am working with some local clubs in Tampa to do some VJing and light tests; I will attach videos of the sets so you professionals here ...

Re: Visual Programming of Laser Fixtures (new product!)
In a basic sense, yes. Most projectors won't get the correct contrast and brightness you would need.

Re: Visual Programming of Laser Fixtures (new product!)
the idea isn't to connect normal stage lasers and controllers to resolume, but instead to visually output raster images that are then turned into light beams, which can emulate lasers and whatnot.

Re: h264 GPU
It probably wouldn't be too tricky in software to add an intermediary "virtual" stream which GPU decodes H.264 to something uncompressed so it doesn't need to be decoded/encoded. Bandwidth will not be an issue because it happens all in hardware. Then you can bring that stream into resolume directly.

Is it possible to add additional shapes using a vector file or such in a new generator?

Re: add alpha transparency in Alley
I recommended the same thing for Alley, I assume you are doing batch work. From the community here it seems that Alley is designed only for conversion to keep it lighter as software.
I think the best solution would be to integrate batch "render to file" with effects in resolume. In that way you ...
