There are better options for sure, but in a pinch, you can create a grid of solid colors (16x16 for an example) and map each of those small squares to a dmx channel. not pretty but it works.
Make sure you get a version with a AMD (or Nvidia is older) GPU in it. The Intel GPU will not perform well. SSD's are always a plus.
