After Effects 17 doesn't show DXV 3 Codec

Post by Iana ogogo »

Nothing helps - I have downloaded the dxv3 Codec from the resolume page, have a licenced Adobe After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder, but whatever I do, whenever I was looking for - I can not find this codec. HELP! :oops:

The DXV3 codec is available under Quicktime format.

Have you tried re-installing the codec?

Are you on a Mac or PC?

It sounds like both you and Iana ogogo have a similar issue but I don't think this is a situation where there will be any news. If you want to find help on the forum, you'll have to provide more information about your setup and the steps you've tried to solve the problem so far so that we can guide you.

Haha yeah sorry, that wasn't a very useful reply. I'm working on a PC and updated After Effects this morning and couldn't find the DVX codec after that. I tried reinstalling it, but didn't help: it still didn't show in the list. I'm in the middle of my graduation project at the moment, so I kind of panicked for a second, but just went back to the previous version of AE for now. Will see if it happens again when I update After Effects after finishing my project..

I would reinstall QuickTime as a first step.

manually add the codec into the quicktime codec folder. I've run into this once or twice over the years.

Check C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTComponents and manually add the dxv codec there.

@drazkers

I Have the same problem. I checked everything but nothing works and than I found your suggestion. Could you please tell us, where we can find the installed DXV Codec on a windows machine to copy and paste it in the quicktime folder?

Just for safety I also tried to paste directly the DXV-Installer from Resolume into the folder and of course nothing happend like I thought before :D

Thanks in advance!
