No input device

Post by jb0815 »

Hi,
in audio settings, I can't choose the desired input device (e.g a webcam mic)
I'm able to choose some devices which are visible (which I don't want, e.g. rift audio) , most are not .
There not greyed out or something, I can click on them but they don't stay activated.
What could be the reason ?

Resolume 7.2.1 on Windows

Probably mismatching Sample rates on your output and input devices. You can check the log in the Preferences - Feedback tab.
Could also be this one: https://resolume.com/support/en/audio-input-no-worky
Software developer, Sound Engineer,
Control Your show with ”Enter” - multiple Resolume servers at once - SMPTE/MTC column launch

In Windows, using mic is allowed for desktop apps including Resolume
But, yes indeed there's an error message in the log file concerning sample rate,
but unfortunately I can't change the output sample rate in Resolume: There's only one possible value: 48000
And in windows device manager there's no sample rate setting either in USB microphone (from cam) settings
Any ideas how to solve this ?

Ran into this last night.

Under Audio Output Device - If I selected the device under listed under Windows Audio, no go. I had to select the Output device as listed under Direct Sound, I could then choose devices under Audio Input. When attempting to use the device listed under Windows audio it would change my buffer size, clear my Input device, then not allow me to choose an input. They were listed, but selecting them didnt give me audio in, and clicking on the drop down listed the inputs, but kept no input selected.

My Win10 on that computer just updated, and I just installed the new 7.2.1 update. I believe it was the windows update that changed my windows sound to Direct Sound, as audio in multiple apps needed to be resetup.

You might be able to change the sample rate of your Output device to match your webcam, in the windows audio device settings.

Try selecting an output device first, and also make sure both the input and output have the same sample rate set in the Device settings.
