Artnet DMX Low fps

Hi All,

hope everyone is keeping safe.

I'm currently working with about 150 Universes of LED Tape inside resolume and running into serious throttling somewhere on my system but cant figure out why. Show file consists on 7 layers each playing a auto pilot of DXV Clips rendered at 1024 x 768. mapped to 7 Sub screens with Slice transform on a 1600 x 900 canvas ( Made it as small as i could whilst troubleshooting) . My FPS is sitting around 22 - 35 which i thought was low considering my specification and my resources being used. Specs below

Acer Predator Triton 900 I9
I99880k Processor
2080 GPU NVIDIA
M.2 SSDS in Raid0(loads of free space)
32gb Ram

when running, Resolume sees me using roughly about....

Ram 30 Percent
GPU 30 Percent
CPU 12 Percent

and my temperatures are insanely low @...

GPU 60 oC
CPU 46 oC
System average 58 oC

Task Manager also present similar stats.

Has anyone had anything similar or know what might be going on? Running Latest Arena 6 and bounced it onto Arena 7 to test between versions. Currently doing a test on a previous version of 7.05. Should my System be able to handle 150 Universes with 0 video outputs?

Update.. Tried on v 7.05 and difference is night and day.

Pretty much locked at 60fps with same show file/advanced output
anyone know of a update somewhere that might of caused this?

Which version did you see the low FPS with, 6.1.5?

We're constantly making improvements to Resolume with newer releases, I remember we made optimizations for DMX output somewhere along the line.

Hi Zoltan,

I was on the latest version of 6 and the latest version of 7. Tried to rollback a single version but no Joy's. Gone back quite a few to get a smoother fps.

In the middle of patching everything . So will know for sure the different in fps between the versions soon.

and the latest version of 7.

You mentioned 7.0.5, which is not the latest, so did you also try a newer that 7.0.5 version?
If so, how did that behave for you?

Hi Zoltan ,

Found the problem. If I have another IP address set for my adapter which is not that of the lumiverse resolume fps drop (for me 33ish fps) as soon as it matches it goes to where it should.

E.g

Lumiverses are set on a 2.x.x.x range. Plugged my Lan internet cable in at my office and changed the ip accordly and the fps drops. Change it back and it works fine.

I am now noticing a lag when touching anything in my advanced output. If I click any fixture/slice it seems every artnet fixture flashes black for a split second. This happens everytime I move or edit something. Obviously it's not a problem when the show goes live as I work be touching my Aoutput however in rehearsals now where I'm still fiddling a it's making all the lights shudder. Usage is low across the board.

Which Resolume version are you using?

Does Resolume work fine if you connect the machine to the network, and then start Resolume after that?

Hi Zoltan,

yes it still happens. its like it is refreshing every fixture in my advanced output when anything it is selected / changed.
