pj link - control beamer from resolume

Post by nicholas »

Hello.
Is it possible to send PJlink infos or html infos from resolume to the beamer ?
I have a Panasonic laser beamer and I need to send him pj link to swith on or off the beamer every hours.
I play a 5 minutes movie every hours.
So I use the autoplay.
But my projector need to be switched on synchro with the movie played.
Thanks.

This is currently not possible in Resolume.
I've read that there are libraries you can get, in pearl and python, it would be possible to create a scheduler program which would switch the projector on, play the clip via osc, and switch the projector off when the clip has finished.

PJLink is based on HDBaseT protocol and Panasonic large projectors take Art-Net so you should be able to achieve what you are trying to do.

I'll be assuming you have a working understanding of Art-Net.

First, take a look at this document on HDBaseT and PJLink, then take a look at the manual for the Panasonic RZ12K (as an example) , go to page 164 for Art-Net Setup and page 197 for Using Art-Net Functions.

So, by using timed [Solid Color] clips, you should should be able to turns your projector on & off by sending Art-Net values to your projector on Channel 8.

Just make sure your Net/Subnet/Universe are set right. Also, if you have the right HDBaseT transmitter (Panasonic or third-party), you should be able to send Ethernet, Video & Audio (as well as RS232 and IR) on a CAT6 Ethernet cable.

What's your IP & Artnet setup?

And what do you mean by a color at 50 and one at 250?

I would use a black clip and a white clip with a single luminance channel fixture to get 0 or 255.

If you use channel 8, make sure your channel assignment is set to [User] or [2]. Otherwise if you're in [1].use channel 5 for power.
