Retro gear Edirol V4

Post by Mizzymo »

Hi there

I am new to this and would love your help.

I want to get started with my newly acquired Edirol V4. I know this is old technology, but I want to create visuals using authentic graphics. My question is - where do I begin? I cannot seem to get anything to input into the Edirol V4 due to the cables. Not sure what I need given the HDMi era. For example, I want to connect my Portable DVD Player - a Sony DVP-FX810, but it does not come up as an input when I use the video cable connect to the Edirol. Any ideas how I can begin this crazy complex journey?

Thanks in advance to anyone who cares to help.

Mish

The player should have come with a jack to RCA cable.
There is a video jack on the player which should give you an analogue video output.
check out page 44 https://www.sony.com/electronics/suppor ... 03982M.pdf
If this is the correct manual, it speaks of a switch on the player which sets the jack to be an input or output. Should be set to output.

Once connected to the RCA input, hit the button for the input on the A (or B) side, and move the fader to the A(or B)

Double check the master output dial on the V4, has messed with me a few times ;) should be in the middle position for normal output.

Connecting your monitor to the Preview output should give access to the menu, and also should give you hints on what the mixer is doing.
Have fun!
