Bolt on shutter for projectors?

Post by AcdNrg »

Folks,

is there such a thing as a shutter (DMX controlled) that one can put in front of a projector/beamer lens?

The idea is to black out the lamp, similar to what a shutter on scanners or moving heads does. Just displaying a black frame doesn´t do the trick, as the lamp remains visible.

I always had good experience with Blackys:

(homepage seems to be in German though)

More professional projecors usually also have a built-in shutter that can be controlled via ethernet.

There’s a device called a dowser that is made for this. It covers the lens without shutting off the projector and can be controlled via DMX.
