nvidia GPUDirect?

Post by madido »

Hello,
considering that now is possible to have simultaneous in/out on Decklink 4K boards, what about GPU direct technology by nvidia?
Is it possible to use a quadro card with Decklink 4K to have the lowest possible latency on Arena?

That would be great on shows with live inputs (now there is the usual 3-4 frames of delay...)

Thank you

Stefano

GPUDirect looks pretty cool. It's definitely interesting for syncing multiple computers.

I don't think it would improve capture all that much, because we already bypass the CPU step with BM hardware.

Either way, it's something that BM and Nvidia need to work out between themselves. The moment they make an API that would let us use GPUDirect for getting the BM texture to the GPU, we can implement it.

Has there been any update to gpu direct being implemented?

There were no changes about this in Resolume.
GPUDirect only applies to the Quadro series, only on Windows.
