Resolume "Freeze" Problem, Divx?

Post by cal-tv »

Hi,

I was using Resolume 2.4 over the weekend at a gig, I got a screen "freeze" every 20 minutes or so. No crash just everything stopped.

I switched between V 2.3 and 2.4 and got the same problem each time

I have encoded all my loops as with the DivX Fast Motion Codec, as I find the quality on Cinepak is a little ropey, does Resolume have problems wirth DivX?

My Spec is:
Traktor Dj Console MIDI controller
DELL 6400 Dual Processor, 1 Gig Ram with 256MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON X1400

Any help greatly appreciated...

Hi,
Well a few years back i would have said that DivX is normally not suitable for live perfromances. But a lot has changed and i haven't actually tested DivX for a while. So if you won't notice any speed problems then use it.

So i don't know if this bug is related to divx, but what you can try is running with cinepak footage as a test and see wether this same bug happens as well.
Only then we discover where this bug is related to.
I will have a go with this codec to see how it feels.

Cheers
Edwin

Hi again,
could you give me a link to where i can find the codec that you used. And what render settings and tool did you used to create your divx files.

Hi, I am using Vegas 7.0c for individual files and WinAVi convertor for converting batches.

my render settings are,

Divx Fast Motion Clean Codec, 400X300, Keyframe every 3 seconds, 3000 kiolbits/sec data rate,

I have the latest stable Storm codec pack installed,

Thanks for the help, i will try a test with Cinepak..

my brief experiences with divx, mpeg4, and resolume 2.4 - is it will almost always freeze... sometimes takes a while (20minutes max for me) but divx and mpeg4 is in my opinion just not suitable for resolume
