Video Projector specs for small venues.

Post by jl »

Dearest Resolumers, we are thinking about using Resolume for a on stage Live Act and are thinking about buying a Video Projector for venues where no video is available. Does anyone have any idea what the minimum specs for such a device would be? I guess we are talking about venues for up to 300 people, for bigger events, we guess, a bigger rental projector would be more clever.
Id be happy if anyone could share some experience in this matter. We are on a tight budget and are interested in any projector/surface combination feasible. What are you using? With what kind of Hardware did you have good experiences?
Humble regards,
jl

I recently bought a cheap beamer (300Euro) 2400 lumen. I use it @home and sometimes in the club (700people) as a second beamer. the contrast and intensity is enough on a see-trough screen =/- 2 meter by 2,5
Resolution is not important don't have to be quied. only the lumen is important. and a good zoom focus function could be handy.

distance projector -> surface?

Thanks!
i guess its a good thing if the lens of the projector is quite wide when using a see through screen, because space behind the screen is often quite short. do you or does anybody know particular projectors that are handy in that kind of scenarios?
