Having trouble w/ Timeline|BPM Sync key mapped.

Post by PiXelSHift »

Hi Resolume makers,

I'm having trouble getting any sort of reaction out of a keyboard key mapped to a simple Timeline | BPM Sync toggle. It's driving me nuts and I waste alot of time whilst building new decks.

Running the latest unmolested version of Avenue 3.3.0.

Please fix/help! greets,

VJ PiXelSHift

Hey VJ PiXelSHift

I think you may be expecting Resolume to do something which it can't. You cannot change the sync mode with a key press set to toggle. Some clips have more than two sync modes, so toggling wouldn't suffice anymore. What you can do is set it to mouse mode, and then you can move the mouse *whilst holding down the key*. That way you can quickly cycle through all the sync modes.

Hope that answers your question.

I'm just talking about 'transport', which only has 2 functions. Specifically with clips with no sound, can't get it to react to any key input. I'm starting to think I want the impossible.

Well, unless I'm totally misunderstanding you, I believe we're talking about the same thing. If I understand you correctly, you want to change the transport mode from 'BPM sync' to 'timeline', by pressing a key?

This, unfortunately, is not possible, because for instance Flash clips have a third transport option, called 'autonomous'. So a key toggle, which can only switch between two states, would not suffice.

What you can do however, is to map the transport mode to a key 'in mouse mode'. After setting the axis (I prefer the y-axis for this sort of thing), you can hold down the key and move the mouse up and down across the screen to change the transport mode.

I really hope that answers your question. If it's not what you're talking about, or if the above doesn't work for you, please let us know!

hi Joris,
I released that I didn't phrase my question in an understandable way and that this Q is ancient,..but :) What I meant (without saying it) that during preparation of clips there is no way of selecting multiple clips and changing some basic setting such as transport, etc. I envisioned using a key press to work quicker... Then! I discovered right-mouse on multiple selection to change settings such as 'transport', 'clip target' etc.. which improves my workflow and answers the question I didn't ask. So obvious I didn't see it. :)
