Get a motherboard with the 875 chipset and a P4 3.0GHz 800 MHz FSB 1024 RAM 2 S-ATA drives(preferably 2 western digitals Raptors, 1 36 Gig and 1 74 Gig) and if u want to use DV quality footage go for a RAIDsystem.
an ATI or Matrox vieocard.
