Delayed midi

Post by mowgli »

I've recently added an Akai Rhythm Wolf to my av set up and was hoping to live-sequence av clips in Avenue from there. Although it "works", there is considerable delay between the sounds produced by the rhythm wolf and those coming from Resolume.
I did a test using Ableton instead of Resolume, and the delay is not there, so I'm assuming that the problem is within Resolume. Are there any ways to potentially improve this? Is there something I'm missing?

I think it's because Live is able to run at a much lower buffer size.

You'll get the lowest latency if you keep your buffer size as low as possible.

I found that with my external m-audio profire sound card I could use resolume at 48Khz with buffer sizes down to 256-128 samples.
that is about 5 msec latency @256 buffer size.

edit: my profire has firewire connection

Because less is more!
Besides, Resolume is supposed to be audiovisual software and offers some things that are simply not possible with ableton
