Resolume integration of BM cards

Post by 1080-productions »

Quick question....
I see resolume has native support for BMD cards. I have also heard the the BM cards will process the video them selves, by passing the gpu. Is this true? If I have 3 decklink quad 2 cards, will they handle all of the processing them selves and not load the gpu? I need Sdi in and out for my system.

Thoughts??

No, everything is still rendered in the GPU.

How do you think the GPU will handle doing all that processing? I am only using 1 of the GPU outs for the GUI, all the outs will come from the BM cards. GPU is the gtx1080.

It depends on the size of your comp and how many effects you're using.

How many outputs are you trying to get?

This may be a question for some of the resolume guys, most I've seen is 6.

Would be interesting to see how it goes.

Clips would have minimal effects.

How is the GPU load any different if using Fx4 units off of the GPU outs?

would a server workstation GPU help at all in processing power. IE: nvidia tesla k80.

Have one of those and a gtx 1080 and BM cards for the outputs?

Thoughts?

That's definitely a question for the devs but I don't think the load would be any different! The main difference in my opinion is that the capture cards limit you to broadcast resolutions whereas the Fx4 or X4 give you full creative control. If you need SDI, you could always add their new HDMI to SDI micro converters downstream from the Fx4.

Define broadcast resolutions...
