I've been using Arena for awhile and can't figure out what is happening with this multiply layer. We run Arena at all 3 of our church campuses and at 2 of them the multiply blend mode works different than at our main campus. From my understanding multiply should work by allowing the layers beneath it to show through the brightest points of the multiplied layer?
So why is it that at our main campus when nothing is beneath the layer that is set to multiply(essentially acting as a mask) the layer is visible? I can't figure it out. It's making things tough because it means that my 'mask' (the layer set to multiply) becomes visible when there's nothing below it. How do I change this behavior?

Re: Help with multiply blend mode.
If the multiply layer is the only one playing content you'll see the multiply layer's content.
If you'd like to use the layer as mask, try the 50Mask blend mode or set the layer to be a masking layer: https://resolume.com/support/en/layers#mask-layer

Re: Help with multiply blend mode.
This seems to go against the mathematical equation of the multiply blend mode no?
Why would I want a color multiply layer to show up as a full color when I clear the clip?
Maybe I'm missing the reasoning for this.

Re: Help with multiply blend mode.
When only one layer is playing, there is not much maths to do, but you probably want that layer to show on our output.
You're looking for the masking layer
