authorisation question

Post by audioseb »

Hello,

i've red different things on this but to be clear i'll explain my situation and need an advice concerning autorising resolume.

i'm actually preparing a show with the demo version and i'll get the 3 PCs for casting end of august.
after installation and autorisation, the PCs will only be conected to a local network without any internet connection for 2 monthes and running quite everyday.

what is the cost effective solution for 3 arenas and a back up ?
how i handle the monthly connection required to your server for keeping the autorisation (i don't want to see an alert message or splash screen) ? maybe i did not well understood this part.

thanks for your answer

You'd need a license for 3 computers, that would come with a backup for a 4th.

If this is a closed network, where the computers are restricted to access the Internet, we'd recommend to set up the network firewall to allow access of this specific machine to communicate with Resolume.com, on https port 443.
The registration check only needs a few seconds to happen on Resolume start, and uses very little data, so you could also use a mobile phone with tethered Internet, at least every 30 days on the computers.

We also have Dongles available which can keep the machines offline permanently, a license for 3 computers accepts 3 dongle registrations, so if the 4th needs to be offline too, you'd need a license for 4 computers, and 4x dongles.
Check out our support page about how dongles work for more information here: https://resolume.com/support/dongle

"you could also use a mobile phone with tethered Internet, at least every 30 days on the computers" this seem a good option for me.

I think for a more stable and secure network, I would suggest changing to a VoIP number because that way you don't have to worry about someone gaining access through the mobile network. VoIP numbers work over the Internet, which is much better because it is much harder to access, which means that you won't have any problems with data leakage.
