Piano mode Snap In, Fade Out

Post by djsky »

Is it possible to have different timings on both the fade in and fade out?

In the transition options, the timing sets both the fade in and out time....

But I want to use piano mode and have clips Snap on full instantly, and then only fade out over 1s when I release the clip.

It's been a long time size I used v5, but wasn't there a fade in and a fade out time in that version? There are some work arounds using the envelope, but I'd love to see a fade in and a fade out time, maybe an advanced mode for the transition dropdown menu? You might move this to feature requests so people can vote.

How about mapping the same note to set the transition time to 0 on note on? (Toggle mode, piano, invert)

I’m not sure I’m with you on this one... the note on would have to set the transition time to 0, and the note off would have to set it back again surely? Would this work?

Also - Not sure what you mean by toggle mode, piano, invert...?

Yes, it works, but needs some more mapping, with duplicates too.
There is a mode option in the transition time shortcut, set it to toggle, then you'll see value range appear, where you can set the two end values to toggle between.
Also there will be a piano option, and if you check that, you'll see an invert toggle. Check both.

I gotcha, yeah that works, cheers.... but indeed needs a load of duplicate shortcuts to the transition function, and if I AMEND the transition time, it gets reverted back to the pre-set time once I push the shortcut again.

Would be good if both an in and an out time can be set on the transition time.... any idea if this is a requested feature perhaps in the pipeline?

We got a few requests about transition time enhancements.
Moved this one to the feature requests too.
