How to make a good use of Feedback source or use delay/buffer?

Post by jobee »

Hey dear Resolume addicts,
I'm quite new about these softwares.
I work now on Avenue.
My goal is to make some video delay on a video, exactly like amazing artist Norman Mac Laren made in his video "Pas de deux" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WopqmAC ... hannel=NFB
I try to use the Feedback source for that but I can't find a way to make it well.
With the feedback source, multiple layers of the past images of video are added successively. But I would like to keep only the last images of 3 or 5 last seconds, not all to keep them all.
I wonder if I can manage it with Feedback, maybe by using an effect on this source?
I watched a tutorial of Wire called Resolume Wire 7.11 Tutorial : Texture Buffers (make your own delay effects!) , that explain exactly how to to that with Buffers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oa0SOYj ... VJSoftware
But actually I would like to find a way to di that without paying Wire licence.
I also heard about a JuiceBar patch called TBOT's Feedback Machine. But surprisingly, this seems not usefull to do that effect I look for.
Would have any idea how to make it?
I will be happy to receive any advice.
Best regards

Jonathan

Feedback source is basically giving you the composition texture as clip. It's not buffering anything.
By placing it into the composition, you're mixing it into the next render pass.
Changing Feedback's opacity, you can change how long it "retains" the mix.

Video router is a bit similar to Feedback, with the difference that you can choose it's input layer. If you place it below your source layer, and you play an effect clip in the source layer, you should be able to make local feedback.

i tried the video router technique, but I can't find a way to make what I really want to do.
But I saw in the Wire Patches example a patch that should work well for me : the Ghost patch.
But I can't find it in the JuiceBar.
Is-there any way to buy or get an example Wire patch?
Best regards
