hey !
I'm looking for a quad head-graphic card working with resolume.
1 for for controlling and 3 outouts.
matrox have two products with quad head output in the product line,
the matrox quid & the matrox pharhelia, but i don't know if it's work
with resolume. I think it's better to use on card with four outputs then
two quad head cards. i would very happy if anybody could help me,
because i'm not able to test the cards.
thank you q-tron

Hi SuperficiaL !
sorry i mean the matrox g450mms. it's a quad head graphic adapter with four chips, on for each output.
"Multiple cards supported in same system. Mix and match Matrox MMS dual and quad cards and support up to 16 (10 with xp) displays from one system"

the quid is also able to control four indipendent outputs:

how i read it...
Hi,
how i read the specs its like this: OR 4 vga screens OR 4 tv-outputs...
if thats true u need a scan converter for the vga-->Video or a couple of displays (tft) with video in...
it could be really expensive...
it would be a cool setup to work with if it works the way u want it to.

I have this card in my second comp. Generally it works as expected, but there are two strange things with it:Originally posted by Anonymous

A) It definitely consumes a lot of system power. When i don't use it, my System (Resolume, DVD players or simply WinMediaplayer) runs significantly faster.
I could improve the situation a bit by upgrading my system with more RAM.
There were some threads in the Matrox support forums concerning this topic.
No, you don't need a scan converter. You only need different cables (tv-out cables) from Matrox.Originally posted by SuperficiaL

B) BUT there is a big problem with them. Don't buy these:

I had initially bought those, they don't work!! I even had to contact the Matrox Support, the support guy himself needed some days to figure out, that these cables don't work. You need these:

Watch for the price ... you can only get them from Matrox, you need them twice (for 4 outs), you need to order those in the US.
So you'll end in around 110⬠extra.
