I tour the UK with a band, at first I did it for free in exchange for them buying me a projector.

Now looking at costs for new tour and they will pay £110 per gig.
Don't know what that is in euros sorry.

1 GBP = 1.42608 EUR , So thats around 160E pifco. Also bundle gigs are cheaper (well in our case).
Can't make a jugdement of that if you don't state public amount, entree fee, etc.

it also depends if you make, dedicated footage, we calculate studio hours for custom tailored footage. And what you bring as services to an event. Ah well I find this topic non relevant, stating the fact their are anormous amount's of vj's, levels, expertise and dedication, so a fee depends on all above factors. Do agree that most vj's are under payed, but I also think this is because of lack of professionalizing the scene. Considering Video Art, Veejaying (with or without statements) and Visual Entertainment are totally different things, badly labeled under veejaying.

Visual Sensations held in The Netherlands at the moment, is one example of video art labeled as veejaying. But I won't go there. Dutch would say:"Breek me de bek niet open".

Sense

always the same story...

When some1 ask that question there are always 10 VJ's to explain"it depends... blablabla" (no offense intended but I think that kind of answer does not answer anything.)

I think we all understand that "it depends"

I also think that when you got 2 or 3 answers like "100Euros for 2 hours" "400Euros for the night"
You have your answer, you have a picture of the market, 50 Euros a night would be very cheap and if you make 400-800Euros a night it is already very good.
