open Preferences, Clicker Setup, click on the function you want to assign, push the button on the clicker.
close preferences with OK.

My friend it keeps giving me this message:
No connection to 1 client in the last 5 seconds!
this computer : 192.168.1.32
and some times the clicker dont work direct!

Clicker are basically keyboard devices with just a few keys. So if the controller window otherwise reacts to keyboard commands then these are a few things to consider:
- you need to keep Controller the active window to receive keystrokes, (if it's inactive, then a big red ! appears)
I am planning to hook into the OS level keyEvents to be able to run Controller in background, but I have yet to find a cross-platform solution.
- clickers often use the same frequency range as WiFi, so some interference is expected.
(I have a 2.4 GHz mouse that doesn't work well with specific wifi channels)
- clickers have a limited range, and low battery can cause it to be shorter.
- the clicker that I have has buttons that have a clicking point slightly other than the point the button is electronically active, so a firm press is needed for me to be sure to have pushed the button.

Ok, the presentation clicker works when app is in background now.
And you can download a Mac version now.
